This site was launched with a church name so those who agree have something to call themselves. I expect 0 followers, and a lot of criticism. The name “Church of Otters” is reference to Revelation 13:4 “who is like the beast able to make war with him?”, at this I asked who is like the drakwn able to make war with them? In a natural sense, only hippopotamuses and otters kill water lizards like crocodiles or alligators, and those creatures mentioned as part of the beast. Hippopotamus was rejected, because who wants to be a big mouthed fat person, or o be mockingly called church of hypocrites? Otter was chose instead, it expresses the curiosity, situational awareness, intelligence, and social coordination, defensive nature, and ability to match and defeat opponents equal and greater in size. This gives those who might worship a man, a symbol instead to embrace, so truth, social coordination, and defense of those take focus. It also, at least in English cannot be easily mocked. Verbal misunderstanding sounds like “church of fatters”, “church fathers”, “church of fighters”, all things good for future church growth and prophecy. Even mockery like “church of river rats” sounds a bit like subliminally “Church of reverence”. The connection to a concept hard to mock, of a creature native to the waters of baptism, and humanity, is better than other options, and it is a nice, fun symbol, and expresses our recognition as humans we are unclean sinners.
