The head to body relationship is the biblical description. This type of relationship is very different from a team. In the human body the head does the seeing, smell, taste, hears, feels, sweats, and thinks. The body does digestion, pumps life blood, feels, works, excretes, sweats, and is responsible for movement. The head is responsible for all intellectual thought, safety, listening to the needs of the body, and command of the body. The body responds and works to the instructions of the head, when is delivered by the head, in turn processes and returns proper nutrients to the head. The head cannot live without the body, and neither can the body live without the head.
Ephesians 5:22 to 24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Jesus is the head of the ecclesia or church. This is absolute rule, if he commands us to do something even if simple we should do it. The same reflexive obedience we as Christians have to Jesus, Christian wives ought to have to their husbands. The bible said the husband has the right given to him by God to rule his house.
In everything is defined as all, even the most tedious inconsequential things. The verse in Luke shows how a man has trust toward his wife in his house. If the wife responds to his requests in the little the trust grows toward bigger. This in turn causes him to emit greater love for his wife, because of trust and joy for her exertions.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
On the other hand, if frequently the little requests are ignored, excused away, or outright rejected, the bond between man and woman begins to decay because of how the man feels towards the wife. If then frequently things of great need to the man, or importance to the family get ignored, disregarded, excused away, or fought against, the relationship goes downhill. It is not good.
The primary concern for wives, is the love emotion, and perception of safety. Given the relationship correlation in Ephesians 5 between Jesus and the church, to husbands and their wives. The husband has complete authority and control over the wife, provided that he loves her as Jesus did. In return the wife must obey the husband as if he were Jesus himself, and respect him as such. If we check all of the other passages about marriage in the bible there is a sequential respect and obedience to love correlation. Ephesians 5 is one example. In other words the respect and obedience comes first. This is directly in line with natural psychological responses as well, and this isn’t speaking about the love people have when they first get married either, because Titus 2 speaks about children being involved.
Colossians 3:18 to 19 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Titus 2:4 to 5 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Ephesians 5:25 to 26 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Ephesians 5:29 to 33 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
